Transpiration
- The process by which moisture is carried through plants from roots to small pores where it is evaporated. Plants need carbon dioxide for photosynthesis, but in order to obtain carbon dioxide, the stomata must open which allows water to evaporate and carbon dioxide to enter the plant. Plants require a lot of water because a lot of it is lost through transpiration via stomata and lenticels.
-The rate of transpiration can be affected by temperature, humidity, wind, and even just the type of plant.
