Stomata
- The tiny pores in a plant leaf surrounded by guard cells that regulate their opening and closure, and serves as the site for gas exchange. Stomata are created by the swelling of guard cells to allow carbon dioxide to enter. Stomata are present in all terrestrial plants, except for liverworts.
